What happens is that the surplus made by the producers is taken by the owners. the idea of marxism is that workers make stuff and owners reap the benefits- which is bad. Creative workers bear the cost of conception on behalf of the cultural industries/companies by being willing to forgo the benefits of secure working conditions and in nearly all cases earning relatively little when they do. Creative labour is underpaid because of perpetual over-supply. every one wants to make n=moves, write songs. people who are willing to have a go at this are numerous.
