Systems (tps) data from the tps goes into reports for the dss; usually for automating recurring activities: more structured and standardized, 2nd level management level, makes mid-term decisions, less structured. Information system that supports this level: executive information. System (eis) provides a dashboard for executive managers to make long-term decisions (ex. Internal - integrate processes and activities within the boundaries of the firm: external between information systems of your own firm and external parties. Inflexibility: can"t change the modules significantly, modules that support common processes across organizations (ex. placing orders for raw materials) but some organizations will have some twists to these processes, costly, risk. Integrating activities, erp software and changing things is always a challenge: set of coordinated entities that contribute to moving a product from its production to consumption. Information product service: supplier manufacturer storage/distribution retailers customers.
