Modeling behaviour appropriate to individuals and get a sense of the variety of outcomes. Focus on broad context of foraging example/ optimally modeling. Optimal foraging understanding the ideas that animals make while foraging. Animal has a particular range, animals may have parts that are good for foraging while other parts are not as good for foraging. Could be due to seasonal patterns: what to feed on. Could be faced with a whole range of things. Should you by-pass it and look for something different. To specialize on one thing, or have a large range of things to eat: how long to feed in one patch, how does predation risk affect patch choice, how does presence of competitors affect the patch choice. Cost (energy to get it) vs. benefits (what you gain) How do crows know how high to drop them, what kind of welts to drop.
