Document Summary

For all the reasons why we would see polygamy (males attracted to lots of females) see that there is competition between access to females but system is limited by having social monogamy. Lots of females are interested to ^ while other males are attracting less females. Remaining females are in competition for the next best male (effective bias because some males may not be initial choice of females, but monogamy dictates we won"t get more than 1 female settling) If they could switch partner they might, say the opportunity arose for a better male, a female would leave their partner for a better male = divorce. Each territory had a male, and we have a female that starts out on the first but she leaves the first to stay with another male = desertion. Female changes partners, now the male is un-paired or attracts a new partner: usurpation.
