Document Summary

Light is a source of energy: primary source of energy for all sources on earth. Takes light energy and turns it into chemical energy and forms of sugar (releases oxygen along the way) In the process of cellular respiration it releases carbon dioxide and water. Define different organisms based on how they get their energy. Producers are organisms that can make their own organic molecules from carbon dioxide (co2) Plants capture light energy and transform it into chem energy using the process of photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide + water + energy organic molecules + oxygen. Carbon from co2 goes into the organic molecules(fatty acid, sucrose, and cellulose). Cant make their own organic molecules, they have to eat to acquire organic molecules. They use cellular respiration to extract energy from the organic molecules, then convert the organic molecules organic molecules, then convert the organic molecules back to carbon dioxide. Eg: humans we eat; and release carbon dioxide(breathing)
