Pompeii one of the best examples of roman life and one of the best known archaeological sites in the roman world. Pompeii is in the bay of naples. Pompeii was not a dominant site in this area, puteoli was dominant. Pompeii is the longest excavated site ~ 200 years. Did the inhabitants of this region know that mt.
