The proliferation of sexual texts in pop culture: post-50 shades culture, hiv storylines in mainstream media, presence of sexual practices in media texts. The emergence of new forms of sexual experience: advancement of technology tinder, bumble, online dating, webcamming as alternative to watching porn. Shift from relational to recreational model of sexual behaviour tied to the sex industry: strip clubs, sex tourism. Our fondness for scandals, controversies and panics around sex: we have an obsession with sex scandals. Sex is the big story, it is everywhere in our culture.
