In canada we had capital punishment until 1976. Last time some one was punished with capital punishment was 1962. In the united states today there are various methods that are used to execute offenders including: lethal injection, electrocution, lethal gas, hanging, firing squad. In canada the only method is: hanging. Documentary -- death row: the final 24 hours. On average inmates spend 15 years on death row. Warrant of execution: person is supposed to be executed on this time/day etc. 14 states allow prisoners to choose how they"ll be put to death: primary method now: lethal injection. Texas= highest with executions: no one has ever escaped on route to the death house. Electric chair technology has changed very little: made of wood so it doesn"t conduct electricity, shave their head better fit of the head piece and their hair might catch fire. Lethal gas: hydrogen cyanide: most expensive form of execution due to the upkeep.
