Students: were discouraged from speaking their first language or, lived in substandard conditions practising native traditions (forbidden to do potlatch) Not a lot of food to eat, or good food: endured physical, emotional and sexual abuse. There has been some law suits, a few years ago the government officially apologized life: rarely had opportunities to see examples of normal family.
