Young men are most prone to crime, but canada is aging and the number of young people in the population has declined. Age is a strong correlate of criminal behaviours. The peak age for most crimes is between the end of adolescence and the beginning of young adulthood (15-25y/o) After young adulthood: crime is declining from its peak. Explanations for peeking criminal propensity of the 15-25 years old: Haven"t experienced "hard time" in prison: young offenders are often treated leniently by the criminal justice system.
