People take shapes in a space and move it across the screen and try to make stories out of the movements of the shapes. We are prone to over relying on intentions as explanations. May try to humanize the shapes with traits and intentions. At the end of the day they"re just objective shapes. We prefer intentions as explanations for events. Ordinary people are rational, scientific thinkers who make causal attributions using similar processes as scientists. Look for an independent variable that operates on some dependent variable some outcome. People attempt to infer whether a person"s action is caused by internal dispositions. Look at factors related to the action in order to do this. Infer person has traits that correspond to their behaviour when these 3 conditions are met: correspondent inference is made.
