Cognitive distortions: all or nothing thinking, overgeneralization, jumping to conclusions, catastrophizing, should statements, emotional reasoning > depressive triad. Cbt: behavioural interventions: activation; restore & enhance functioning. Cognitive interventions: identify distortions; monitor negative thoughts (diary), examine evidence, change core beliefs. Weekly sessions & then monthly check ups. Secure attachment; predictive of better functioning later.
