People w a greater level of education tend to get higher paid jobs. Women earn 80% of what men earn. The worst predictor of job performance is general intelligence. Taking a vacation is not the best way to reset & eliminate symptoms of job stress & burnout. Effects tend to be temporary (basically avoiding) Happier employees are not much more productive than unhappy employees. Decisions; you have potential for success in a variety of occupations - but there are limits on your options. Career choice is a developmental process that extends throughout life. Stakes are high - some decisions aren"t easily undone. Models of career choice: holland"s person-environment fit model; Career satisfaction predicted by match bt personal orientations & work environments. Social > school & college classrooms, religious, mental institutions , judge. Enterprising > courtroom, car sales, advertising, attorney, manager. Conventional > bank, post of ce, le room, business of ce, banker, typist, receptionist.
