Divisions of the nervous system: brain peripheral n. s (motor) autonomic n. s sympathetic vs parasympathetic. System: they are antagonistic; actively inhibit one another. Inhibition of peristalsis: vasoconstriction (blood vessels shrink, do this to conserve heat)
