Locke thinks humans have capacities, will be good. Created by god and will push towards goal. Ability to reason and choose - understanding and volition. If you are good, you will go to heaven. Highest/ultimate good - summun bonum - goal. Main goal in life is good afterlife. Oriented in terms of action - good afterlife is based on what you do. Right/only way to save yourself is sincere and steady purpose of good life. Key to good after life is now: act, work, choose. Being on earth is opportunity to act. We are social creatures - we must interact with others. Propagate - have lots of kids, be fruitful and multiply. World is given to us to used/develop for the better. Leave enough opportunity for others so they can develop property and have kids. Best way to save yourself is to help weak, poor, vulnerable. Against random charity- has to know person helping.
