Gender politics: what evidence do feminist scholars point to when advancing the claim that women in. Income, access to political seats, etc: typically used by feminists argue substantive equality has not been achieved in canada, income women do earn less than men. Does not take into account that more women work part-time, exacerbates wage gap. Women only made 71% of what men made. 2008 whatever level of education women have, they should still expect to make 30% less. 2009 women with university degrees only made 68% of what male counterparts earned. Gender roles women have children and have a huge drop of income, change in career and drop in earnings which does not happen to male partners: combination of gender and race widens gap. Women of visible minority even while educated have an unemployment rate doubling non-minority women. On average earned 9% less than non-visible minority women despite most of the minority women being better educated.
