Eating disorders: psycholigical disorder characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits, developed countries - an epidemic of eating disorders. 3% of women have eating disorders and up to 22% have some traits or behaviours (kneisl et al, 2004): eating has meaning beyond sustaining life. Includes: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and eating. Disorders nos (not otherwise specified): anorexia has highest mortality rate of all psychiatric illnesses (10%).
