Thought to be much more advanced than pictographic writing, did not exist in pictographic form. Phoenician the first concept of an alphabet / written language. Through this, you begin to expand to be able to express feelings and it becomes easier to communicate. A phonetic system is basically an alphabetic system. Now vowels were added and language became more expressive, easier to read and write, things got precise meanings. More people learn to read and write with this alphabetic system and because of that, it weakens the power of the scribs the people who could read and write before the other people could.
