Training: organization"s planned efforts to help employees acquire job- related knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviours, with the goal of applying these on the job (i. e. orientation, diversity training) Job or organizational changes requires employees to continually learn new skills. Stages of instructional design: needs assessment: process of determining the training needs for the organization. Self-efficacy: sense of personal control and being able to master one"s environment. Factors that affect self-efficacy: performance in similar situations, observing others perform, verbal persuasion, emotional arousal: planning and designing a training program. A statement of what the employee is expected to do, acceptable level of performance and conditions. Resources needed to carry out the desired performance i. e. upon completion of the course, the student will be able to supervise employees in the assembly of vehicles under conditions of physical stress. In developing training programs, it is important to consider physical fidelity and psychological fidelity.
