Feudalism: only king can give people and grant people rights. People who recognized him as king and his power. A person"s wealth was measured by the amount of land they had. King didn"t grant absolute rights; granted conditional rights. Had to pledge loyalty to king - how king maintained army. Property - legal relationship between people with respect to things. Other people with right in respect to one"s house: bank, city, neighbours, canada. Real property: land, buildings anything attached; fixed and now moveable. Expropriation: government can build stuff on your property. Personal property: is everything that is not real property; can be tangible or intangible. What we usually mean when talking about property. Holder has right to possess land during their lifetime and when they die, the property goes somewhere else. Ex: no swimming pools can be built on land ever. Case: lockmac something - buildings that are single or semi attached.
