Because vision for movement is a characteristic of the ppc: ppc responds only to position information and is achromatic in nature/not sensitive to colour change. Insensitive to cognitive elements associated with the stimulus. Purely interest in the size and position of the stimulus: the ppc processes target features and non-target feature. People with optic ataxia lesion to ppc do not demonstrate trajectories that deviate away from a target whereas people with intact ppc have trajectories that deviate away from non-target objects. People with lesions to pcc will knock things over, specifically seen in feeding behaviours. Ppc not able to integrate into movement plan the location of target and non-target objects. Heath study: paradigm: looked at pro-pointing and anti-pointing movements.
