Document Summary
Outcome- interpersonal comparison: winning, placing in tournament, ex. getting above an 80 in a class specific outcome of what i want. Performance- performance end product achieved independently: scoring # baskets, making # tackles, ex. Comparison to the last performance, something that i can measure based on what i"ve done before. Problem with only setting outcome goals- don"t have 100% control over that. If you only set outcome goals it creates that potential for lack of motivation, not 100% control. It is important to set outcome goals because it gives you a vision, gives you an end point to reach, if i know where i want to go it will get me going in that direction. Performance goals are important because the outcome goals are.
