Mood disturbances influences mood regulation beyond the usual variations between sadness and happiness/excitement persistent low mood & inability to find enjoyment in activities. Lack of motivation to being or continue activities. Depression is not a single disorder, there are four category or types of disorders. The more general one is the depressive disorder or major depressive disorder. Depressed mood, loss of interest or pleasure are primary symptoms. Not driven by physiological causes (e. g. drugs) or medical condition (e. g. Symptoms cause significant impairment in social, work or other important areas (cid:862)(cid:373)ajor type of depressi(cid:448)e disorder(cid:863) One or more episodes of mania or mixed episodes of mania and depression. Mania can range from pure euphoria/elation to irritability. Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities that are likely to have painful consequences (e. g. unrestrained shopping spree, sexual indiscretions)
