Has left neglect unable to attend to things in her left visual field. Directs vision to the left visual field; forced individuals to attend to things in their left: rtms- series of rapid impulses. Apply rtms to unimpaired hemisphere (left parietal lobe for left neglect) Trying to disrupt/inhibit activity in the unimpaired hemisphere to try to equal them out. Gw received rtms treatment for 15 days; (15-20 mins a day) ability to draw the clock face with no neglect becoming apparent. Stopping treatment = symptoms of left neglect will return. Why do we respond faster to some stimuli and not others: input, human (brain, output. Stages of information processing are serial and discrete. Must fully complete each stage before you can enter the next: stimulus identification stage, stimulus detection. Sensory information attained from external sources is detected and transformed into neurological signals. Neurological signals are mapped onto meaningful event.
