Stress injury model williams and anderson model is the most famous psychological model. There is a relationship between stress and he onset of injuries. Personality is going to also influence the injured person and the stress they feel after an injury. Cognitive ability is going to play a part in how the person responds to an injury as well. The biggest limitation of the model is that is is difficult to apply it in real world settings and has posed researchers with difficulties in the past. A moderator variable is a quantitative variable that affects the nature, the direction or the strength of a relation between an independent/predictor variable and a dependent/outcome variable. If someone has low coping skills, it is predicted that it will be hard for them to go back to activity after their injury and sustaining the injury could be difficult.
