(cid:498)population health an approach to health that aims to improve the health of the entire population and to reduce the health inequities among population groups(cid:499) Population health builds on a long tradition of public health and health promotion. 1st: addressed sanitary conditions and fought infectious disease. 2nd: focused on individual behaviours to non communicable disease and premature death (but still care about sanitation and hygiene) 3rd: recognizes health as a key dimension of quality of life. 21st century will need to be constructed from the key question posed by both the health promotion and population health movements. More broad, moving beyond behaviour change and thinking of health connecting to the social determinants of health, qol, wellness, health as a concept that passes from individual, to macro, to policy level.
