Henry grey: first anatomist; wrote greys anatomy textbook in 1856; was a medical doctor, dissection of the human body first to describe what he viewed of the dissected human body. One of his friends was an illustrator who then drew out the organs and created greys anatomy textbook. Introduction to: systemic and functional anatomy, basic cells and tissues. Difficult to decipher individual parts of the system. Systemic anatomy: anatomy of the body systems, and how they are integrated (11 systems of the body - cardiovascular system, bone system etc) )mportant to have a (cid:498)position(cid:499: akin to having a 3d compass + ups and downs, directions, movements and relationships, standing straight, palms face forward, feet flat, midline/axis of symmetry = line down the middle of body. Regions sometimes not clearly defined related to nomenclature. Help to regionally organize the human body. Most of the central nervous tissue of the body.
