International awareness has grown signi cance in last 30 years. Thanks to feminist movement, increased travel, proliferation of human rights organizations, tv and internet. We"ve never been more globally aware of issues affecting women men and children affected by issues of sex and sexuality. The nail in the cof n in the sexual revolution was aids. Moral judgement about aids got in way of trying to cure disease. Eudcation about aids and medical intervention and compassion delayed because of alleged immorality of who had it. Can be spread vaginally, anally or sometimes orally. Spread through sperm, vaginal secretion and blood. When aids got spread through sex or needles, immoral. Innocent victims (nurses etc) vs deserving or guilty ppl. Brings rights of collective or society vs privacy rights of individuals.
