Most powerful rocket ever built in terms of lift capacity. The saturn v was later used to launch parts of america"s first space station skylab . Lift the rocket to about 68 km and breaks off. Kicked in after fuel for the 1st stage was spent. Thrusts the rocket into low earth orbit and breaks off. Fires at 191 km (at the translunar inject-tli) Leaves earth"s orbit and fires the rocket at the moon. Turns around to grab the lem then back to head to the moon. Lunar module is responsible for landing on the moon.
