Pardoner a pardoner absolves people of their sins. Would travel from place to place with letters from the pope. These letters were indulgences from the pope that would let the person spend less time in purgatory if they made a large donation to the church. Pockets most of the money and only gives a bit to the church. His stories are specifically designed to manipulate listeners and make money from them all his stories focus on the sin of greed of money: focused on his own selfish ends.
