Photosynthesis characteristics of circadian rhythms a biological rythm with a period of around 24 hours (one peak to the next peak). It can be transcript or protein abundance or temp. 1. this biological clock can be set by the external envornonemtn. Astronomical timebase don whats going on outside ex the sun. this is called entrainment. The clock is not totally independent from the external environment. You can reset your clock when the light env changes. 2. can set the clock, but are not a slave to the external env. Photosynthesis is not circadian bc you need the photons of light. Not all diurnal rythms are circadian. you have an endogenous clock. This clock (circadian rythms) has a genetic basis. Dna replication has circadian rythm, dna replication usually. The transcription factors wc1&2 are positive elements of the clock bc they activate transcription.
