Ovaries produce mature ova, and ovulate once a month. Ovaries secretes hormones; most notably estrogen and progesterone. There is a uterus; incubation chamber for the developing fetus. Mammary gland we don"t talk about that no more. Primary is where the ova are produced (ovaries in this case) How when ovum is released, its gathered into the uterine tube and hten to uterus. And then if sperm are in the region, implantation may occur. And when it comes time for birth, baby goes out uterus and through vag to be delivered. Female reproductive is a bit more mysterious than male, This is a view of pelvic cavity of a female. In abdominal region, you remove all organs and are left with the cavity on top. Most of strucs that we talk about are considered extra peritoneal; covered by layers of peritoneum. This is clinically important cus if there is an infection they can determine where the infection will travel.
