Coccygeal: conus medullaris ends around l1/l2, body and spinal cord are segmented, the vertebrae represent the segments. If you try to stick a needle up higher in spinal cord it will damage it. C8: dorsal surface, we see the cuneate and gracile fasciculi. Ventral median fissure: the dorsal root ganglia have the cell bodies of the sensory neurons. Sympathetic neurons don"t go straight out to the blood vessel post ganglionic goes out to affect the visceral organ (blood vessel, heart or gut) So by the time you get to the sacral level, there is not much that is left to be innervated: number of fibers is diminishing bc they are terminating. Same thing with ascending info, you"ve got sensory info coming into spinal cord so info from lower torso, legs, middle abdominal area, are joining fibers and ascending to the brain.
