Document Summary

18 sept 2012: person = human being = soul, knowledge of the lord. Being good = self control: good person = just person. Justice - necessity - coercion (state or self) 3 classes: auxiliaries , rulers, workers, noble lie. Individual justice 4 functions 4 virtues: soul 3 parts, definition of justice injustice, woman warriors. State shapes us; we shape state (how revolution happens) Rulers and warriors must possess everything in public, not private. Have children with public women so they don"t know who"s child it is. So they love all women in city, protect everyone not just wife and kids. Rulers are elite, do not enjoy riches like wealthy people. All 3 classes are united by the need for public good. If you tell someone something long enough, they believe it. Lie is that everyone is either gold, silver, bronze. Just society (not a real city, this is fantasy) Virtue = the perfection of a job; doing something well.
