Adult sexual relationships outline: dating and breaking-up, common law, civil union, and marriage, sex and satisfaction, parenthood, divorce, non-monogamous relationships. The person who initiate the breakup often feels less emotional distress, but still guilt. Some rejected partner become obsessive about the lost relationship and social support is important in recovering from a breakup. The meaning of marriage has also altered over time. In western society, as women"s roles have changed so have relationship structures and expectations most people in canada now marry because of love: previously marriage was more about cementing social relationships, politics, or economics. A legal union of a same sex couple sanctioned by a civil authority: not always recognized from province to province, or internationally, o er some of the same bene ts of marriage. Both heterosexual and same-sex couples may decide to have children while dating, living together, or married.
