Document Summary

You really need to draw on materials from class. When answering questions, draw on everything from you can (films, readings, lectures, guest lectures, etc). What the film highlights, is the fact that it was created to be difficult to control morally and legally. So it is a classic case of how law can create a monster. So we will try to work out why it is so hard to morally and legally control corporations. Today, the corporation is a dominant institution, and this movie examines the nature and impacts of the business corporation. There are a lot of bad apples in the corporate world. The corporation is an institution that creates great wealth, but often causes great harms. People in a corporation work together for a common end. It reaches almost everywhere, and is all powerful, transforming the lives of people. Corporations try to devour as much profit as possible.
