Think outside of the confines of the nation-state. Process of migrations in the context of the nation-state. Anything that disrupts the idea of the nation-state. Identities of heritage and citizenship duality. Capitalism / where are your things from commodity chain. Transnationalism has been used differently depending on which discipline is using it. Previously colonized state continues to give resources. Transnational refers to any movement across nations and borders. Transnational feminisms theorize across and beyond nation-states and borders (intersectionally) Theorize how the nation-state connects to the violence we"re examining. Do not look to the nation-state or it"s liberal laws to form solutions if it"s responsible for the violence. Transnational feminisms draws connections between the issue in one nation-state to another nation-state to better understand the similarities and characteristics of the problem. Do not look at how they are the same but to look at the similarities to identify the problem. Similarities are not the same / identical.
