How and why these social processes have come about and continue to operate is the subject of feminist theories. What to do about them is the aim of feminist politics. (judith lorber, gender inequality p. 7) No singular agreement on the causes and what should be done- not one theory but more diverse opinions. A lot of talk about being fed up with politics. Emphasis on the electoral processes, policies and practices that effect our everyday lives. When people say they are not interested, they are turned off of coverage in the news, can decrease voter turnout. Some people who are turned off by politics organize protests i. e. pussy riot. Politics: a contest about what matters and ought to be subject to (public) consideration and debate (richard iton, in search of the black fantastic, p. 9)
