Myth is a traditional story based on supposed historical events that can reveal world view of certain peoples. Myth deals with supernatural beings- ancestors, heroes with huge accomplishments. Can be pop belief or tradition or grown around someone or something. Myth can something not true on unfounded notions. Myth can relate to person or things with unverifiable or imaginary existence- ie urban myth. Gods and heroes of the past were mortal possibly, who were remembered for things they did, and over time the things they did became exaggerated and cemented. Ie zeus lives and becomes identified with the sky. Contrast how people should live morally vs gods nefarious nature. Myth compiled over time but compiled by avid. Avid approach to see things with chronological point of view and historical correspondences. Fall of troy and age of heroes corresponds to rise and fall of civilizations.
