Piaget"s influence on our understanding of child development. ***we are not reading chapter 4 change to chapter 5. Breakthrough theories on child development represented the first time children were viewed as active agents in their development rather than passive organisms to whom development happened . Numerous theories of development after piaget either align or contradict. Piaget"s ideas regardless, it is one of the foundations: whatever most people believe, is often reflected on piaget"s theories. Didn"t come from an education or pure science background developed theories based on talking to children through the clinical interview method: learning involves structural changes n the way children think about heir world. Children form representation of their world that allow them to act on and influence their environment: they learn something new organize in their head.
