Just observing the facts, ex. who went where. Constructive: we hear both sides, there is no distinction between which side is right. Largely unquestioned: doesn"t worry about what fact is true and what we cant rely on. Doesn"t give people enough info to judge shit, just a way of become aware > much cheaper tho. Statistics: can be made to say anything (are required to be used carefully, easy to make em sound like they"re proving whatever u wanna say) How the facts t into a larger picture, what should we believe, how should we relate shit to one another. Difference between a descriptive (reportage) essay and an analytic essay (journalism) Democracy is important: age idea that you cant make judgments in what is right and whats right > where journalism need protection of the gov"t (also why journalism is dying) Understand the relationships in the news and start to become more aware.
