Culture had more impact than the mass media did. Radio was the first major outside influence that was invited into your home for longer time, it was faster and larger. Television continued this and was more present in your home because it was here. The world was not part of (cid:498)home(cid:499) before, but now (cid:498)home(cid:499) includes the world. Radio was invited into peoples homes, but with television the outside came to stay. There is less isolation in the home, because you can now see some things happening outside from inside your home. It created a shift in the idea of security. The idea of being invaded is always present, insecurity in our own home, we"re. There was a government reaction to tv. At first all tv was live, taped shows were not until late 1950s. The milton berle show as the most popular show around 1960, there was a water.
