Topic: anything to do with mass media: social media, newspapers, tvs, etc. > you can get his approval (anything scholarly) Annotation: proves that you know what is written in an article, book, etc. First: there"s always a rst entry in an annotation (format: mla in our course) Second: first entry followed by the annotation: annotations can contain many things (2-3 pages double spaced for our course, required for our course: (need to know the difference of what the author is talking about and what they"re trying to prove) Second: subject, thesis, major arguments, strengths and weaknesses, relevance to you. Doesn"t mean its true but it should be taken seriously. Newspapers and magazines are not scholarly sources > not peer reviewed. How can you tell if somethings scholarly. If it"s in an academic journal: the date that it is published depends on the eld it"s about. (ex. medical articles go out of date in less than 5 years, etc. )
