Document Summary

Decolonization: white-settlers appropriate the word decolonization it became a word in fashion and metaphor. To respond to this question, we must begin with responding to what colonialism is. White-settler colonialism: settler colonialism is distinct from colonialism. Settler colonialism in the us, canada, new zealand, australia, south africa and palestine: where the settlers came to stay. The native must always be disappearing even as his labor is needed until then. All about the land, resources and the settlers inventing themselves as native to the land. Settler-colonialism is mainly about the land and the disappearance of natives, while colonialism on its own is only about the labour of natives: denial and erasure of indigenous sovereignty. The dispossession of indigenous lands, and the actual/attempted elimination /genocide of indigenous peoples. However, indigenous scholars aren"t saying go back home, they are saying stop killing our people, stop stealing our resources/land.
