People who study consumer behaviour are interested in understanding the word of mouth because it has a large effect on consumerism. Word of mouth also affects the voting behaviour and political choice. They found out that commonly when people make an important decision like buying or voting, people think about the stuff they heard about the phenomena then they go to people they trust, the opinion leaders". You are likely to participate people you trust as participants in your decision. Where sociology begins: the age of enlightenment, 1650-1850. It opposed traditional hierarchies, superstitions, and unwarranted privileges. Enlightenment was about making a better, safer society. Sociology begins in the 19th c, right after the enlightenment.
