It"s superficial to say that ned"s well-being at the beginning caused ned"s less well-being in the last 10 years. once a country gets their act together, people out of hell, it doesn"t seem to matter. north america: monetarily okay but high dysfunction + anxiety. gdp increases over the years and there is a very slight decrease in happiness therefore there is no relation between gdp and happiness: individuals: promotion = no overall lasting effects (temporary) win lottery = enjoy contrast; over time, you get used to it: standards have changed.
