Intelligence tests (e. g. wais, or sb-5: adaptive skills measures (e. g. ados-ii, basdc-iii, cab) Global developmental delay: diagnosis only for children under age 5. Treatments for asd: there are two treatment types, drug therapy: ssris, atypical antipsychotics, naltrexone, and stimulants, psychosocial therapies: aba, esdm, floor time, ot and slp treatments, treat co-morbid disorders. Treatments for ld and cd: therapies designed to build missing skills. Individualized education plan (iep): describes specific skills and deficits as determined by tests, teachers, and parents. Includes parent and teacher interventions: changing skills can change brain function. Motor disorders: there are 4 major motor disorders, stereotypical movements disorder: repetitive, apparently purposeless motor behavior (e. g. , hand shaking, body rocking) 4-16% of those with id; > in more severe id.
