Document Summary
Physiological psychology: behavioural neuroscience, how it contributes to human behaviour and feelings. Focus is on looking at neurotransmitters, hormones, regions of the brain. Debate are you born with it or is it part of your environment? . More so how do nature and nurture interact with eachother in order to influence someone"s behaviour. Can"t separate them from one another: impossible to separate genetic influences from environmental influences, they can work together to determine human behaviour. Epigenetics changes in gene expression that are due to non-genetic ( epi" outer") influences (environmental influences) Heredity the genetic transmission of characteristics from parents to offspring. E. g. , ada might say that she inherited her blue eyes from her dad. Heritability an estimate of the genetic proportion of the variation in some specific trait. In a particular population, this trait varies heritability is 0 if there is no variation. Estimate of heritability % of the variation that is explained by genetic differences.
