Document Summary
We don"t get flow into tissues unless delta p exists. Differences in pressure on upstream side (cid:494) vice versa. Wider the vessel, the slower blood flows; very important in capillaries and (type up from picture on phone) how substances and gases move in that direction. Elevation of pressure upstream of the resistance. When you squeeze down on resistors, lower pressure on veinous side of circulation, but elevate arterial side: do not allow as much fluid/flow to go out of arteries, increasing pressure. Vasodilation means allowing more fluid ot exit capillary bed. Increase in cardiac output to drive bp up. Can also drop bp in certain cases. Stroke volume: volume of blood carried in one cycle. From aorta to ventricle, gets pushed: directly reflects volume [uos pressure determines stroke volume. Pulse pressure becomes increasingly important in life, increasing causes changes in blood volume. Directly impacts the heartkmay cause (cid:494) slowly release the cup until they can(cid:495)t yer the sound anymore.
