Established a level of authority, right to rule not developed from god but resides in the people. Authority to rule is a trust that can be removed it abused. Sovereign must rule within the law of the land, made by parliament and interpreted by courts. People have the right to overthrow- triumph of legal traditional authority. Offering the crown, along with a declaration of rights that established the supremacy of parliament over the monarchy, to william and mary in 1689. People themselves deliberately create government to by agreement among themselves in order to achieve reliable and partial enforcement of the law. Government exists because the people themselves choose it and choose to be governed. The end of all political associations is the preservation of the natural and impresciptible rights of man; and these rights are liberty, property, security and resistance of oppression.
